I finally finished another marathon of hand sewing!  A Steampunk woman and 2 sculptures of characters from the Discworld series---Mrs. Lettice Earwig and Magrat Garlick--2 very unique witches.  Magrat is "new age" and Lettice is a parody of Hyacynth Bucket of "Keeping Up Appearances" a British comedy.

The Steampunk sculpture will be displayed at AFIC in Columbus, Ohio very shortly...where as the sculptures of the witches will be joined with the other 2 previous sculptures--Fion a Nac Mac Feegle and Ysabell---that were made and displayed at the last AFIC show.........the Discworld sculptures are to be in a show devoted to Discworld and Sir Terry Pratchett will be in attendance also!

Photos of these new sculptures and previous sculptures can be seen in the photo gallery here at my website!

On to the next project--------a ballerina and then on to a bride.....from there I will be back to my petite couture line...fabrics and supplies await!

So Many Projects...So little Time

:/Well..I've done it again!  I just can't help myself....new projects triggger a response that says.."oh yes I want to make that"...then life gets in the way and projects fall behind.  I have learned to slow down and try not to over do...health issues demand this....yet my muse disagrees...so it is a circle of chaos.

Project #1....move office to laundry room and convert previous office to a bedroom for my eldest grandson.  This has been "in the works" for 2 months and seems to have no end in sight due to the mass amounts of "stuff" that needs to be moved.  The bonus in this move has been a massive clean-out of non essential items that have grown over the last 5 years and threatened to become a safety hazard.  I have become less agile as my condition progresses..resulting in being a clutz...I trip very easily.

Project #2...put all fabrics in "space bags" to protect them from damage while being stored.  I give myself a "gold star":D...this project completed!

Project #3...install shelves and storage units in new office to hold books and supplies.  This is 1/2 completed....hanging shelves still need to be hung and 4 storage totes worth of items will then be organized and off the floor for good:).  The WAY BASICS storage cube units are a fantastic lightweight solution that I invested in to store books and all my binders of research materials...these are heavy binders..and the units are working out perfectly!

Project #4....sculptures to be made....last count I need to make 5.......still working on them and hope to beat the deadlines.

Project #5.....Time for me!!!...........I have had to become more strict with myself in helping family members...in the past I didn't hesitate to drop whatever I was doing to help others....this has been a huge drain on my nerves and strength...so now I don't answer the phone until I feel I can offer my help and only for a few hours and not whole days.8)

My Studio

:/In the winter and cold months I am unable to work in my "studio"...it has no heat!  This room was my daughter's bedroom, then after she grew up and "flew the nest" it became a spare room/storage room.  I put my foot down and claimed it for my studio...unfortunately the electric baseboard heater had been removed so it is un bearable in the winter.

I've taken several photos to show how much "stuff" there is in that tiny space....embarrassing for me to show these the room looks so terrible...but a creative mind isn't always a neat and tidy one.  Welcome to my studio.
